From one sentence to a live store: the suumee build log

Six series, forty wall-art pieces, totes and tees — how an Eastern-art gallery went from a one-line brief to a live storefront.

suumee is a curated Eastern-art gallery — ink-wash landscapes, gilded court motifs, quiet botanical studies — and it started as one line of brief. This is the build log.

The concept. The brief asked for a gallery, not a merch shop: six distinct series, each with its own visual language, all original stylized work. The engine's first job was curation — deciding what belongs in a series and what dilutes it.

The art. Forty wall-art pieces were generated as high-resolution masters, each reviewed before it entered the catalog. Every piece is original AI-created work in a style register, not a reproduction of any existing artwork — that's a platform rule, not a preference.

The products. Wall art came first: framed and unframed prints in standard ratios. Then the derivatives — totes and tees built from the same masters. Here the build hit a real decision: garments use the full-bleed art panel as-is rather than cutting the subject out of its background, because ink-wash work *is* its background. Cropping it would have destroyed the composition.

What didn't ship. Throw pillows were cut from the launch. All-over-print pillows crop tall 3:4 artwork badly, and shipping a compromised product to hit a launch date is the kind of decision the platform is designed to say no to.

The launch. Storefront live on its own subdomain, hero banner and store copy written in the gallery's voice, every product with studio-grade mockups — all inside the platform's standard pipeline, no custom code.

You can browse suumee and every other storefront from the discover page. If the build process itself interests you, the same pipeline is available to anyone through Quick Launch — one sitting, one store.
